The Challenge
A full day, one location, and two teams working in parallel, photo and video, on a tight schedule. The brief was a warm, naturalistic tone, and Melbourne's grey skies were not helping.
The video and photo teams also had no access to the location before the shoot, so lighting positions and the blocking of each scene had to be worked out on the morning.
How We Approached It
A large, warm light source was bounced into a reflective mirror to increase the size and softness of the light, creating a sunlit feel regardless of the weather.
There was no storyboard for the film, which is typical for out of home fashion campaigns. The work is built on tone, creating a mood that complements the collection, and a lot of the job is problem solving to land as close to the original vision as possible.
What Made It Special
Photography and cinematography moved between each other all day, sharing light and set, so the stills and the film feel like one campaign. A little Super 8 film went into the motion for texture.
The Reality
A cohesive campaign delivered from one day on set, 5 November 2025, produced with Howatson and Company and Plus Also Studios for MYER.
