A music video for Sweet Memories, the latest single from Ethiopian reggae artist Nhatty Man, produced and co-written with Killah Keys, shot over one day at Point Cook, Melbourne.
The Challenge
A full-day shoot with a crew of around ten, a cast on location and a limited window of light. Point Cook Homestead locks its gates in the afternoon, and the forecast carried a small chance of morning rain.
How We Approached It
The day was built around a clear run sheet, with a 9:30 am call for the production crew and a backup location ten minutes away at Campbells Cove Beach in case the weather turned.
The plan was to leave the homestead at 3:50 pm and finish at the beach by 6:30 pm, using the last of the light. A base with marquees kept the crew sheltered, fed and ready.
What Made It Special
This was the first time I got to work with my mum. She helped me scout the locations and got to see what I do for my job, which made it special.
Working with Nhatty's family and friends was also a highlight.
